The Beauty and Power of
Abortion Love

Compassion breaks down abortion stigma.

NNAF and Forward Together Unveil Art Campaign Illustrating Multigenerational Support for Abortion as an Act of Love

Art: Micah Bazant, Concept: Kenya Martin & Jasmine Burnett

Forty-seven years after Roe v. Wade, it’s clear that the ruling was never a promise to abortion access. The all too common reality across the country is that Roe already fails to guarantee abortion access for so many people, including those contacting abortion funds. The recent wave of attacks on abortion have left community members confused about where and if they can access abortion services.

But that doesn’t mean it’s time for us to give up hope. People will still want and need abortions. That’s why we’ve launched an art campaign with Forward Together aimed at combatting the stigma around abortion by replacing it with a vision of the power that’s possible when we hold each other with love across generations.

Many people seeking an abortion experience financial and logistical obstacles to access meant to shame and dissuade them. It comes from their communities, society, and even themselves. But we can move away from stigma and towards surrounding our loved ones with compassion. Now is the time for us to show up for people having abortions with messages of trust and tenderness. Start today by proudly displaying your “Everyone Loves Someone Who Had an Abortion” artwork.

Love the art? Download it here and share it with your loved ones.

In honor of the 47th anniversary of Roe, help end abortion stigma by sharing loving and bold messages about abortion. It’s up to us to break cycles of shaming and oppression. When we envelop people having abortions in the fierce love and power that’s built in community care, we bring the world one step closer to ending the harmful stigma that isolates us from each other — and our collective power.

We know how we communicate our vision of abortion matters in shaping the consciousness of our culture. Everyone loves someone who had an abortion. Everyone deserves their humanity and agency to be central in their abortion experience. Move with us toward that vision by talking about abortion with compassion and support today.

In Love,

Yamani Hernandez
Executive Director

The crisis in Texas

Dear Friend, On September 1, SB 8 went into effect in Texas. This vicious new law makes abortion funds, providers, and in fact anyone who helps someone seek an abortion after six weeks in the state vulnerable to a civil lawsuit with minimum damages of $10,000. 85% of abortions in Texas happen after six weeks, […]
