Realizing the Power of Abortion Funds

We are thrilled to unveil our strategic plan along with the launch of our new website in Fall 2016. You might also notice our new branding, which represents our diverse, interconnected network, unified to fund abortion and build power across the intersections of race, class, and gender.

Over the last two years, the National Network of Abortion Funds (NNAF) has undergone a shift in size, framing and constitution and has a bold new plan going forward. NNAF is Black woman led, with a multiracial, multi-religious, gender-expansive staff of 18 in 13 states. Our forward-thinking strategy broadens and amplifies the power of our network.

With your support, we will build on our direct service roots to mobilize a larger, stronger base of abortion fund callers, volunteers, donors and staff members united around a long-term vision of reproductive, economic, and racial justice.

The network today is over 70 grassroots organizations in 38 states and three countries, comprised of thousands of volunteers who directly interface with over 100,000 callers a year. The network of tomorrow will include its callers as members, organizing a movement of not only paid professionals but also those of us who are most impacted by barriers to abortion access.

Our work builds the capacity and power of our members. We view grassroots fundraising as a political act and use it as a core strategy to redistribute wealth and privately fund the abortion access that should be publicly supported as a basic human right.

We know that with your help and because of the size and reach of our network, this conversion will create the largest national surge in grassroots engagement that the reproductive health, rights, and justice movements have seen in many years. We are eager for what tomorrow will bring and are so grateful to have you in our corner!
