Need help paying for an abortion? Call our confidential helpline at 833-672-2310 and leave a voicemail with your name, your phone number, the date and location of your appointment, and the number of weeks in the pregnancy. Let us know if it is safe to leave a voicemail or text message with the fund’s identity. A volunteer will return your call within 24-48 hours, Mon – Fri. Services are available in English (ext 1) and Spanish (ext 4). You can contact practical support using ext 2.

About New River Abortion Access Fund

The New River Abortion Access Fund (NRAAF) is an all-volunteer fund based in the New River Valley. We provide financial and practical abortion support primarily to Southwest Virginians. We will try to also help people from other areas of Virginia who are at least 10 weeks gestation, if we have funds available. NRAAF is dedicated to ensuring that all people have access to safe, legal, affordable abortion care regardless of income level, race, location, ability, gender identity, or immigration status.

New River Abortion Access Fund's Community

In early 2019, three Blacksburg locals launched the New River Abortion Access Fund. We currently fund multiple abortions each week. Although many of our volunteers are college students, we want to prioritize the leadership and experiences of local Southwest Virginians and Appalachians from communities most impacted by abortion barriers, including working-class/poor and rural women, women of color, LGBTQ and gender non-conforming folks.
