About Chelsea’s Fund

Chelsea’s Fund is an all-volunteer organization established in 1998 to assist Wyoming residents who are seeking to end an unwanted pregnancy but cannot afford the entire cost of an abortion. Since most Wyoming residents must go out of state to access abortion services, they face not only the cost of abortion, but also the associated costs of travel, time away from work and child care. The right to choose an abortion is meaningless without access to abortion services. In 2014, the Fund expanded its reach to include funding eastern Idaho residents. In 2019, we changed our name from Women for Women to Chelsea’s Fund to honor our determined and caring founder, Chelsea Kesselheim, who worked tirelessly for a just society where all have access to reproductive rights.

Chelsea’s Fund's Community

Last year, Chelsea’s Fund helped over 190 people pay for abortions that they otherwise would not have been able to afford and helped more women with information about available providers and costs. The Fund has an annual mailing to raise funds and several events yearly in Lander and Jackson, Wyoming.
